Go here to see many models of the SOTS;www.google.co.uk/search?q=sovereign+of+the+seas+pics&espv=210&es_sm=91&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=EJYpU8qTJ4OQhQfy64G4BA&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1913&bih=898&dpr=1The Ship is named "Sovereign Of The Seas". Built in the late 1600's. It carried 74 cannons and was the biggest and most fearful war ship of the British Navy at the time. The model kit is 1/84 in size making it 110 cm long from bow spar to stern and 90 cm tall to top of main mast and 40 cm in beam. It comes in 135 issues of kit that I get one kit weekly. So as you can see it will take more than two years to build. The working is very intricate and down to the finest details. A real challenge to complete. Issues one and two put together showing two of the 74 cannons on this shipView from other side. It is imperitive that this original section is kept perfectly straight as it is being put together. As each kit issue is added I will add photos by replying to this thread.

Up to issue 9 now.
First the tiny row boat that goes on deck. Parts for this come in a number of issues so only hull at moment. Separated from build base and then painted just inside. Then issue 9 joined onto previous plus part together that goes on later.Regards

Some catchup on model ship showing first deck a full balsa infill of rib frames below (makes it easier to plank) and last pics of issue 12 put on deck with supports of balsa every second beam as beams look a little flimsy. Regards

Painting the tiny anchor and oars for the ship's launch after being metal primed. Oars can only paint shaft brown for now as waiting on ivory paint for blades. Ends where rower's hold will be painted black. Regards

Issue 14 and second deck. Pics show some waste board cut off, gluing of second deck and finally painting black the cannon chambers. These will be covered with planking later and cannon ports cut out.Regards
